The Andover Trojans needed a full performance on Tuesday night in order to beat Eisenhower on the road. Fortunately for the Trojans, they were able to put together a solid outing good enough to top the Tigers 71-61.
Both teams looked to push the tempo early and often in this one, each able to find a good amount of points in transition. Goddard Eisenhower was paced by Jordan Vincent. From the point guard position, Vincent was able to get into the lane against the Trojans and convert. When the Andover defense crashed down, he dished passes to waiting and ready teammates who were able to score on open opportunities.
Andover found success both driving the ball and from behind the three point line but what stood out most for the Trojans was the ability to create second chance points off of offensive rebounds. Andover only had a one point lead at the break but found a chance to open the lead by crashing the boards and getting to the free throw line.
Andover improves to 6-0 and will prepare for a cross-town showdown with Andover Central next while Eisenhower will be in a similar setting against Goddard.
