For Andover Central to win on Thursday, they knew they had to do one thing. Stop Larry Wilson.

Through three games, the Hornet running back had been close to unstoppable. Over the last two games, both wins, Wilson had broken a pair of 90-plus yard touchdowns, totaling 350 yards. Outside of long touchdown after starting split out wide, the Jaguar defense did their part to stop him.
RJ Bethea got things started fast out of the gate for the Jaguars, taking it in for the short score less than three minutes in. After that, the defenses traded stops before the Wilson score tied it at 7.
With the score sitting at 10-7 in the second, Xavier Bell delivered the play of the game. On a ball to the front corner of the endzone, Shomari Parnell put it right where it needed to be for Bell to make a play on it, and Bell went up and over the defender to somehow come down with the catch.
After Parnell took it in on the ground to extend the lead to 11, the Hornets kept themselves right in it, recovering a blocked punt in the endzone to put it back to a four point game. But that's as close as they got. Parnell threw another touchdown pass in the second half to make it a two possession game, and the Jaguars went on to take home a 27-17 victory.
Andover Central improved to 2-2 and will stay at home in week 5, welcoming in Maize South. Valley Center also sits at 2-2 after tonight, with a game against Andover on the horizon.
