Andover Central blows Ark City out for second time this season

The first time these two schools met was early in the season, and it turned out to be a one-sided affair. Andover Central defended their home court to hand Ark City their first loss by 26, 70-44. Each team has lost just once since that day, jumping to second and third respectively in the 5A rankings.

However, Friday's rematch in Arkansas City turned out to be no different.

Xavier Bell put on a show early on, slicing through the Bulldog defense to lead the way in scoring while their defense held the 'Dogs to just 2 points in the first eight minutes.

Through the second quarter, it just got worse. Easton Leedom was money from deep as they got the lead up to 20.

Ark City made it a game in the third, cutting the deficit as low as 10. But Bell hit on a three point play to end the quarter, getting the lead back to 15 and effectively putting the game out of reach, taking it 68-47.

For Ark City, it's their second loss of the week, falling to Andover Tuesday night. Andover Central on the other hand got their second win over a ranked opponent in the same timespan, beating Campus Tuesday before handing the #3 Bulldogs just their third loss on the season.
