Maize South girls basketball fell short in it's season opener to Andover Central, losing 53-41.

The Jaguars outscored the Mavs 15-5 in the first quarter and held that 10 point lead going into the half.
Andover Central able to force a few turnovers and made 9 of 16 free throw attempts. But Maize South did outperform at the charity stripe knocking through 10 of 14 free throws.
Only four Mavericks put up any points in the season opener while Katie Wagner led her squad with 28 points and nearly perfect at the line only missing one of her 10 free throws.
On the other side, Maddie Amekporfor led the Jags with 15 points and Ellie Stears right behind her adding 12 to the final score.
Andover Central prepares to take on McPherson next while Maize South hits the road to play Andale.
