Derby stays perfect on the road

The Derby Panthers are off to a perfect start in their 6A title defense, both wins coming on the road with very little problem. On Friday, it was a chance to make a stake in the AVCTL with a 49-0 win over Salina Central.

The Panther offense has yet to find a counterpart able to slow it down. Quarterback Grant Adler found Cavion Walker for a long touchdown pass for the first score of the game.

The ground game looks to be the strong point of this Panther offense, Tre Washington was able to find points courtesy of the option on numerous occasions, including a 35-yard explosion.

The defense for the Panther pitched a shutout on the night, despite facing a goal to go situation.

Derby returns home against Newton next week while Salina Central plays for the Mayor's Cup against Salina South.
