For the fourth year, the Catch It Kansas student sections rankings are back!

In 2018, area student sections came out strong to start the year, causing a big shake up from our preseason rankings. Before we get to those, as always, here's a recap of past champions

Fall 2015: Garden City High School

Winter 2015-16: Berean Academy

Fall 2016: Goddard High School

Winter 2016-17: Andover High School

Fall 2017: Garden City High School

Winter: 2017-18: McPherson High School

Let's get to the rankings. Starting us out at the top...

(1) Great Bend

We have a new number one! A big factor in rising in our rankings is support on the road. Nobody did it like Great Bend this week, with Panther fans making the over two hours trip to Andover and you know that was a good bus ride home.

(2) Andover

The Trojans jump up to number two! The team may have dropped the game on the field, but the fans in the stand never lost spirit. The bar has been set early.

(3) Kapaun

The tweet says it all, on a school night, Kapaun showed out on opening Thursday. Now who do we send our head shots to...

(4) Andover Central

This is such a loud open space. Since it's in the opposing stands in Augusta, we can only assume there are Jaguar students there, just hard to tell visually

(5) Goddard

The Den wins for our favorite opening night theme. Who knew that many Goddard students had fishing gear ready to go?

(6) Derby

Derby did as Derby does. They also called out our preseason number one for not making the drive to The Den. Hard not to take notice of that.

(T-7) Heights & Hesston

Y'all. Is that baby powder?

(8) Salina Central

The upset over Eisenhower to start the year, a field rush, AND someone did their best Baker Mayfield impression. They have to be on the list

(9) East

Also making a season debut in the rankings is Wichita East, who came through with big turnout against Goddard.

(10) Ness City
Country Rooooooaaaadssss, Take Me Homeeeeeeee

This is what we like to see! A few schools sent us non-football student sections, but Ness City stood out. You see, these rankings aren't solely dedicated to football, but all fall sports. So a great showing at a Volleyball match AND music? We love it.
