MAIZE, Kan. (CIK) Maize star senior running back Caden Cox is staying near home with his commitment to continue his football and academic career at the University of Kansas next fall.
Cox made the announcement on Twitter Thursday, thanking his parents, teammates, coaches and trainers for helping him toward his big decision. He also thanks God "for blessing me with the talents he's given me and allowing me to be in this position."
Cox is one of the state's elite running backs and is a big reason why Maize has its place in the Class 5A rankings and enters Friday night's game at Newton with a 3-0 record. The Eagles cruised through their first three games, outscoring opponents 151-26.
After a great phone call, I am excited to announce that I am COMMITTED to @KU_Football to continue my athletic & academic career! @CoachLesMiles @TylerOlker @coachtonyhull #RCJH #Hail20ldKU pic.twitter.com/kjFwZOwJfX— caden cox (@cadencox25) September 26, 2019
