Maize South comes back to shock Hutch

MAIZE, Kan. (KWCH) - Down 20-7 at the break to an AVCTL Division I rival, Maize South faced a tall task in the second half if they wanted to keep their dreams of a 5A state championship alive. The Mavericks stepped up on both sides of the ball in the second half, especially defensively, on the way to a 21-20 win over Hutchinson.
The Mavericks, 8-2, move on to play Kapaun, the top-seeded team in the 5A West Bracket.
