Eisenhower powers by Hays, keeps dream season going
GODDARD, Kan. (KWCH) - A game of two battle-tested teams ended with one continuing on their 5A playoff journey and the other seeing the ride come to an end. A year removed from its state semifinal run and best season in school history, Hays was coming in strong again this year, surviving a gauntlet of a schedule with a 7-2 record heading into Friday night at Eisenhower, the No. 2 seed in the 5A West Bracket enjoying its best season in school history.
In the end, Eisenhower made a statement, moving the record in their AVCTL-II championship season to 9-1 with a dominant, 41-7 win over Hays.
Eisenhower moves on to play Maize, the No. 11 seed who continues a Cinderella playoff run after upsetting Liberal Friday night on the road.
