Derby takes down Hutch in road victory, 27-17

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Last season, Hutch nearly pulled off the coveted upset over Derby on the road, so this year’s matchup seemed that it could be the one that would finally see the Salthawks ending on top. But if any time wants to knock off a team like Derby, they have to play nearly perfect to do so.

Friday night, Hutchinson let Derby through the cracks early, letting them pounce to a 14-0 lead early. After that, the Salthawks were never able to pull off the comeback, falling to a final score of 27-17.

There were lots of questions before the season on who this Derby team would be after losing so many big names from last year’s team, but it seems that they’ve found their stride as they’re winners of three straight.
