SALINA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The McPherson Lady Bullpups defeated the Andale Lady Indians 52-33 in the final Class 4A semifinal of the night.

Early in the first quarter, the lead changed hands four times. By the end of the quarter, McPherson held a five-point lead, 15-10.

McPherson withstood an early run by Andale. The Lady Bullpups then built on their lead and led 29-20 at halftime.

The Lady Bullpups came out of the locker room and turned in an impressive defensive performance in the third quarter. They only allowed Andale one point for the entire eight minutes of game time.

In contrast, McPherson scored 17 points.

McPherson’s Jordan Sears led all scorers with 23 points in the game. She made nine baskets, one three-pointer, and four of six free throws. Jayla Mcleod added 10 points, all from field goals.

The Lady Bullpups will face the Bishop Miege Stags for the State Championship game. Since 2017, this will be the fourth championship game meeting for the two teams. Bishop Miege holds a 2-1 record in the championship games.
