EMPORIA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Hutch has been a team that has lived by the three much of the season, and with the success they’ve had, how can you blame them.

That rang true in a big way Thursday night, the Salthawks poured it on Pittsburg and cruised to an 84-51 victory to keep their season going.

The Salthawks jumped out to a 10-0 lead, one that grew to 21-8 after a quarter of play, and reached 20 points at halftime. Garrett Robertson and Julian Smith both hit three triples in the first half of play while Hutch forced 12 first half turnovers to create the 38-18 advantage.

They didn’t slow down from there, keeping the points rolling in and leaving no doubt that they would be moving on in a big way.

Smith ended up with a game best 22, hitting 6 of 7 shots from beyond the arc off the bench.

Hutch now moves on to take on Kapaun, both teams with identical 22-1 marks, with the winner playing for a state title.
