Northwest gets rematch with Manhattan in Sectional round
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Northwest survived an early Junction City offensive surge, settled in, and took care of business in the Regional round of the KSHSAA football playoffs, 50-27.
Northwest began the game with the rain and wind in their face, and marched right down the field to score. But the Blue Jays immediately answered with a score of their own. Both teams went back and forth throughout the first half, before the Grizzlies extended the lead to 10 at the break.
Northwest outscored Junction City 20-7 in the 2nd half, to cruise to the win. The Grizzlies advance to play Manhattan on the road next week in the Sectional round. It’s the 2nd meeting between them in the last three weeks. Manhattan won the first game 56-28.
