A week after handing Mill Valley their first loss, Olathe North saw its perfect run come to an end at the hands of Lawrence Free State, meaning Manhattan is the lone 6A club to run the table in the regular season. The Indians further distanced themselves from the pack with a four touchdown win over Northwest. Their path to the title game could feature rematches with both Northwest and Derby. Olathe South also picked up a big win to close the year over Gardner-Edgerton to jump back to 7th.

The top half of the 5A rankings all closed the season with wins, Bishop Carroll and De Soto both knocking off ranked teams last Friday night. Great Bend makes its season debut in the top ten after a big road win over Garden City. The Panthers have now won 6 straight after back to back winless campaigns.

The teams remain the same in our 4A poll, but there was a shakeup in the rankings. Bishop Miege took its second loss to Blue Valley Northwest, and Aquinas took over the top spot. St. James saw a 4 game win streak come to an end with a loss to winless Blue Valley North. Three teams take unblemished marks to the playoffs: Atchison has achieved this feat multiple times, while Chanute is perfect after the regular season for the first time since 1935 and Wamego for the first time since 1977, all according to Kansas Football History.

The top ten remains unchanged for 3A heading to the postseason. Andale takes a now 46 game win streak to the postseason in search of a 4th straight title. Girard and Wellsville both wrapped up back to back unbeaten regular seasons as well, the Eagles achieving this after moving to 3A from 2A this season.

Southeast of Saline and Nemaha Central both faced ranked opponents to end the year, and both allowed just 7 points in improving to 8-0. Kingman also now sits 8-0, their best start since opening 10-0 in 1999. Ellsworth and Sabetha take slight falls after the losses, while Chaparral makes a return to the 10 spot. Beloit, state runner up a year ago, is one of the classes hottest teams, now 6 wins in a row after an 0-2 start while battling key injuries.

Trinity Catholic is the lone team to take a loss in 1A the last week, but stays in the polls at 10. Conway Springs wrapped up that district title with a 5th straight win to carry momentum to the playoffs. Olpe joins that group of teams that saw a slow start and have picked up steam, the Eagles now winners of 6 in a row.

The final week of play for division one saw some surprising results in close games. Burlingame took their first loss, 60-59 to Lyndon. Hoxie lost by 4 scores to Atwood-Rawlins County and will now have to go on the road to open the playoffs. Three teams enter 8-0, including a South Sumner team in their first season as a co-op between Caldwell and South Haven.

Dighton won a battle of unbeatens with Minneola, and the Hornets are now one of 5 teams to take an 8-0 mark on. Lebo took the place of Colony-Crest after winning a district title over them Friday. South Barber dropped its second straight after a 6-0 start to Hodgeman County, a team they’ll now host to open the postseason.

The final week of 6-man’s first year of being KSHSAA sanctioned ended mostly chalk, with the top 9 teams all winning. Defending champ Natoma fell to Pawnee Heights and moves out. Ingalls won one of the wildest games of the season, 100-87, over Deerfield. Season-long favorite Cunningham and a team brand new to 6-man, Waverly, take unbeaten marks to the playoffs.
