Jags prevail in Backyard Brawl, 38-14
ANDOVER, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Backyard Brawl goes to Andover Central, as the Jags top Andover 38-14 at Trojan Stadium Friday night.
Central started fast, marching down the field on the opening drive, capped by an incredible throw and catch from Braden Barcewski to Cooper Tabor. We slowed down the video and see Tabor just got his right toe in as he caught it, to put the Jags up 7-0.
On Andover’s second play on offense, Senior running back Nik Pai went down with what appeared to be a significant injury. The Trojans were able to rebound, and move the ball inside the Andover 40, before Tabor jumped a pass on 4th down, returning the interception 66 yards for a touchdown, to give Central an early 14-0 lead.
Central kept the pressure on throughout the 1st half, going into the break up 21-7, and never let up on the way to the win.
The Jags close the regular season with a home game against Valley Center next week. Andover travels to Hutchinson.
