Junction City won their 4th straight to jump into the top 5 ahead of its showdown with top ranked Manhattan. Garden City makes a return to the rankings after the Buffs won their 4th game of the season.

The biggest shift this week came with Maize South falling to rival Maize in a big way, but the Mavs hang on to the 9 spot despite the loss. Valley Center makes its season debut after doubling last year’s win total in week 5. Goddard’s road win over Andover Central has the Lions back in the rankings.

Louisburg earns the week’s biggest win, a hard fought victory over previously unbeaten Eudora. The Wildcats have yet to lose to a team in Kansas. Wamego remained perfect with a 34-6 win over another unbeaten team in Coffeyville. Andover Central falls out of the poll after its second loss, making the way for Circle to re-enter.

Andale pulled off a eye-popping 108-0 win over Nickerson, one that saw them score 78 first half points on just 22 plays and only play JV/freshman in the second half. The Indians win streak is now up to 43 straight ahead of its marquee matchup with second ranked Collegiate. The top 8 in the rankings all took care of business, though we did see Scott City hand Hugoton their first loss in OT. The Beavers have not lost to a team from Kansas and takes Hugoton’s spot in the rankings.

This year’s War on 24 was a classic as it always seems to be, with Silver Lake topping Rossville in comeback fashion, winning after going for two in OT. Norton took perhaps the most surprising loss of the season, an overtime defeat at the hands of an 0-4 Goodland team. Ellsworth has now won by a shutout in 4 straight games.
