WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - In our CatchItKansas game of the week, the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles showed us why we picked it as they posted a stellar comeback win. Bishop Carroll was down 15 points heading into halftime, but had complete control in the second half, going on to win 53-41.

“If you’re going to compete for championships you’re going to have to be resilient because bad things are going to happen. It’s how you respond to those bad things,” said Bishop Carroll head coach Dusty Trail said. “Obviously our guys responded very positively tonight.”

The first half story was Northwest’s stellar run-game behind two Division I talents in LJ Phillips and Cencere Thompson. Thompson rushed in for two first half touchdowns alone with QB Jayce Glasper running one is as well.

The Eagles had quite the rushing display as well in the second half, the exclamation mark coming on a Tate Blasi 45 yard jet sweep. Blasi said he hopes tonight’s win propels the team going forward.

“It’s a great feeling,” Blasi said. “A great start to this season. It really means that all the work in the off-season paid off. This is a game that all the guys worked for in the summer.”

The Golden Eagles win was only their second time winning in the last seven matchups. Bishop Carroll will next take on Wichita-South.
