GREAT BEND, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - In their quest for an 8th consecutive state title, the Central Plains Lady Oilers started their state tournament with a big win, 58-28 over Beloit-St. John’s/Tipton Thursday.

The lead for the Oilers was just 10 at the break, but they pulled away after half, holding the Blue Jays to just 12 second half points in the 30 point win. Brynna Hammeke led the way with 18, while Madison McGuire had 16.

The Oilers are now set to take on Hanover Friday, the Wildcats reaching the final four with an upset of Lebo.
