Derby rolls in the opening round of state, 41-17

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Derby made a statement in the opening round of the 6A Girl’s State Tournament Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers topped Shawnee Mission West, 41-17 at Charles Koch Arena. It was a game that saw just 21 total points in the 1st half, before Derby opened things up after halftime.

Derby’s defense held the Vikings to just 19 percent shooting for the game, and only 8 points in the first half.

Addy Brown led the way for Derby with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Derby advances to play Blue Valley Friday in the semifinals.
