Remington girls pull away from Flinthills in the final quarter of sub-state semi
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The two and three seeds of the 2A sub-state bracket, Remington and Flinthills respectively. The Broncos hosting the Mustangs in this horse race to a sub-state championship game.
Riggen Carney worked her way inside and drove the lane to the rim. She lobbed it up and gave Flinthills the lead 11-10.
Karoline Johnson passed to Kaleigh O’Brien as she cut inside and took it to the basket for the layup in traffic. Remington regained the lead by one point.
Johnson passed to Emily Wedel at the top of the key. Wedel looking to pass but she pulled up and drained the long ball, bumping the Broncos out to a 7-point lead.
Harlee Randall passed to Tagen Carney who let her shot fly and banked the ball in for the triple. Carney drew the foul in the process, and she brought the Mustangs within two points.
But Remington would pull away to win 47-38 over Flinthills and advance to Saturday’s championship game against Berean Academy.
