WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - El Dorado boys lost to Circle earlier in the season but in week 10, they were able to execute defensively to shut down the T-Birds, giving the Wildcats the 68-58 win.

El Dorado senior Jeremiah Kemboi said, “We know their best players, we know their shooters and then we put our guys on their guys to try to stop them and that’s what won us this game was our defense, not anything else.”

“We were locked in defensively, that was on of our better defensive games, I think,” said El Dorado boys basketball coach Drew Culbertson. “Then, offensively, it took us a little while to get going a little bit but we stuck with it, got more patient as we went and started taking better shots.”

El Dorado getting hot down the stretch…making this their fifth straight win.

“Coming from four wins last year to and now up to eleven, we’re liking this winning feeling,” said Culbertson. “We’ve kind of figured out how to win these games as opposed to, we really figured out how to lose them more last year. But it’s just kind of a mentality.”

“Momentum and us finding out how to win,” said Kemboi. “Last year we won four games, this year we won five straight, that’s just what we’re trying to figure out, how to win and it’s been working. We’re just going to keep it going.”

El dorado moves to 11-7 and will host Buhler next week while Circle falls to 10-8 traveling to Winfield.
