Andover Central boys pull away from Salina Central in low scoring affair
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Andover Central hosted Salina Central in a back and forth battle that ultimately ended with the Jaguars pulling away in the fourth quarter to win, 42-34.
Chance Gulley threw the ball up from the corner and caught all net to give the Jaguars the 10-point lead.
Micah Moore kicked the ball out to Nolan Puckett in the corner and he would return the long ball favor and boost the Mustangs within four points, 13-9.
Skyler Clevenger swung the ball to Max Holcomb who launched up another trey. After that bucket, Andover Central led 16-11.
Fourth quarter, Sid Duplessis pulled up at the top of the key and found the bottom of the net to Salina Central in the game.
Holcomb continued to make the Mustangs pay from deep, at one point giving the jaguars a 30-27 lead.
Kobe Smith pulled up for the mid-range shot, Andover Central started to seal the deal for their 12th win of the season. The Jags record moves to 12-2 while the Mustangs fall to 6-8 so far this season.
Undefeated in league play, Andover Central will travel to Derby on Tuesday and Salina Central will host Eisenhower.
