Hesston boys pick up tough win over Buhler
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Both Hesston and Buhler picked up their first losses of the season last week in tournament play. The Swathers came into this week ranked #3 in Class 3A while the Crusaders also came in at #3 in Class 4A.
Both teams went back and forth with lead changes in the first quarter with Hesston coming out on top at the end of the quarter, 13-11. Hesston didn’t look back after that, outscoring Buhler in every quarter the rest of the way.
Buhler had the Swathers lead narrowed to just three points with under a minute left but Grant Ricker’s corner three try was deflected by Jake Proctor.
Brayden Schilling led the Swathers in scoring with 14 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter. Cason Richardson also poured in 10 for Hesston. Buhler’s Jackson Voth finished with 14 and Grant Ricker had 13.
