Wichita East pulls off overtime win over North
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Coming off of a three game losing streak including a tough loss to Heights on Tuesday, East High School looked to bounce back tonight against North. Although it took overtime, East did just that - pulling away 61-57.
North went into the fourth quarter trailing, but Emilian Carrion’s 12 points in the quarter helped North force overtime. The Aces outscored North 11-7 in overtime.
Barry Glover (14) and Braden Dale (11) both finished with double-digit points for East. Peter Kaufman and Travon Manuel both finished with 9 points, with all of Manuel’s points coming in the second half.
Carrion finished with a game-high 24 points, including three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Jacob Wassall also scored 12 for North.
East takes on South next while North will face Bishop Carrol at home, both on Jan. 18.
