Salina Central boys come from behind in second half to beat Goddard

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Salina Central boys traveled to Goddard as both teams entered this matchup sitting below a .500 record.

Central’s Kenyon McMillan came away with the rebound and passed up to Nolan Puckett in the corner. Puckett hit the three-pointer to bring the Mustangs within one, 13-12.

Jake Jasnoski gets the feed inside for Goddard, he spun off the defender and got the hook shot to fall. Lions took a 17-15 lead.

Puckett passed up to Micah Moore. Moore drove inside and pulled up for the mid-range shot, he got the shooters roll to cut Goddard’s lead. Salina South trailed by four.

Sid Duplessis broke up the Goddard pass and took it back the other way. He faked off the defender with behind the back move and weaved his way to the basket. Looking for the foul call but didn’t get it. The Mustangs were still behind 23-20.

Landon Lickly drove to the net for Goddard and then kicked it back out to a wide-open Seth Wilhelm at the top of the key. Wilhelm drained the three to give the Lions a lead at halftime. But Salina central would go off in the second half and pull ahead to a fifteen-point lead. Ultimately the Mustangs went on to win 60-41 over Goddard.
