ELLINWOOD, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Ellinwood Eagles dominated the Macksville Mustangs to win their Central Prairie League matchup 66-47.

Both teams entered the contest ranked with the visitors sitting at number three in Class 1A Division I and the home team ranked fourth in Class 2A.

The teams started the game trading buckets. Ellinwood took advantage of a couple of turnovers and a three by Britton Dutton to help separate from the Mustangs. Dutton ended the quarter with eight points from a field goal and two threes. Parker Scheck led the scoring with ten points on five field goals.

The Eagles held a 22-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Macksville scored 11 points in the second quarter while Ellinwood added three points to their lead by scoring 14 points.

At the end of the third quarter, no one had changed the difference as both sides scored 14 points.

Ellinwood closed the game out by scoring all field goals in the fourth quarter, a total of eight of them for 16 points. Their defense held Macksville to only 10 points.

While Junior guard Britton Dutton garners most of the attention, classmate Parker Scheck scored the most points of any player in the game with 22. All of his points came from field goals. He did not shoot a single free-throw all game. Dutton followed with 20 points on three three-pointers, five field goals, and a free throw. Koy Benhke scored 10 points from five field goals.

For Macksville Ryan Kuckelman led with 15 points from five field goals and made five of six free throws. Rogelio Ibarra added 10 points on two field goals and two three-pointers.
