2nd half sends Bishop Carroll over Heights

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCHCIK) - Over the last few seasons, the battle for City League Supremacy has been reserved for Heights and Bishop Carroll. The latter capturing the title last season and is now in the driver’s seat to repeat after a 52 to 45 win over the Falcons.

Bishop Carroll would start to control the pace of the game towards the end of the first half after its full court press forced Heights into turnovers before the break. The Golden Eagles would go on to open the second half on an 11-0 rim before Heights would answer with points. A spirited Heights effort would fall short in the fourth quarter.

The Golden Eagle backcourt featuring Kendall and Landon Forbes would take turns leading the charge for Bishop Carroll. The latter landed a plethora of three-point baskets that would help Bishop Carroll increase its lead.

The Falcons would find a way to pull within two late in the fourth quarter before a pair of Brynn Steven three-pointers would halt the attempt.

Landon Forbes would finish the night with a game-high 24 points for Bishop Carroll, draining 5 attempts from deep over the course of the night. Steven would follow scoring 8 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons would turn to Cayanna Stanley and Zyanna Walker for the bulk of their scoring. Stanley finished with a team-high 15, while walker added 11.
