Late run lifts Derby over Goddard Eisenhower
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Entering Friday, the Derby Panthers were after their first win of the season, only to use an 18-2 run in the final minutes of the game to secure the victory over Goddard Eisenhower 57-52.
Eisenhower got off to a good start offensively, finding a number of ways to score from deep and around the paint. Caleb Conyers had the hot hand early with a number of first half threes that would help move the needle for Ike.
Derby would use the second quarter and a boost from a number of players off the bench DeShawne Titus along with Amari Thomas would help close the gap for Derby in the first half. The former scoring in a number of ways, finding points off the Panther press.
Derby’s win marks the first on the year and makes the Panthers 1-2 while Eisenhower falls to 1-3.
