Andale takes down Maize, 55-45

ANDALE, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - In a top five, non-league AVCTL matchup between 5A No. 5 Maize and 4A No. 3 Andale, the Indians came out on top with a 55-45 win to advance to 2-0 on the season.

“I was pleased with how we played on Monday against Valley Center, I knew if we played like that again we could win tonight,” Andale Head Coach Ted Anderson said. “We had three great practices this week and that showed tonight.”

Andale started fast, jumping out to a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. Maize would cut Andale’s lead to 26-22 at the half.

Camryn Winter led the Indians in scoring with 14 points while Kyla Frenchers led Maize in scoring with 14 points.

With the loss, Maize drops to 1-2 on the season.

Andale will face Wellington at home Tuesday while Maize hosts Derby.
