WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Maize South Mavericks found their rhythm in the second half against Wichita East to cruise to a 44-35 victory in the GWAL/AVCTL challenge at Koch Arena.

Wichita East held a small lead at intermission before Jenna Uehling turned the tide in favor of the Mavericks. The senior guard was able to convert a three-point play that would tie the game, the closest the Aces would be for the rest of the night.

Uehling scored 11 over her team high 15 points in the third quarter, while Ava Howie added 10 of her 14 in the third frame of play. The Jaguars would find their footing on the offensive side of the court pouring in four shots behind the arc and eliminating any chance at an East comeback.

Avery Howe was big defensively for Maize South down the stretch, registering a couple of blocks to her stat line.

Aubree Dawson scored a team-high 11 for East, followed by a group of Aces with 5.
