DODGE CITY, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Dodge City Lady Demons won 45-33 over the McPherson Lady Bullpups in an all-around performance.

Dodge City received nice contributions offensively by seniors Amaya Perez and Camree Johnson. Junior guard Becca Unruh played a crucial role making multiple shots from three-point distance.

It was a close game at halftime, Dodge City led 24-20. The Lady Demon defense was a factor in the second half, holding the Bullpups to 13 points down the stretch.

Head Coach Kelley Snodgrass said her team came out with some energy to begin the season.

“They definitely came out on fire, that always helps the lead,” said Snodgrass. “I think they withstood some of their runs and you know defensively we just had to withstand foul trouble and they stepped up and got it done.”

Dodge City has a quick turnaround after their season opening victory tonight. The Lady Demons travel to Newton on Saturday to take on the Railers.

McPherson opens their season in the loss column. The Lady Bullpups next play at home against the Andover Trojans on Dec. 10.
