PHOTOS: La Crosse blows by Moundridge to open playoffs
La Crosse opened their postseason with a 61-6 home win over Moundridge. The Leopards potent 1-2 punch in the backfield carried the load in the win, with senior Colby Stuff rushing for 148 yards and sophomore Gage Burk right behind him with 140. The two combined for 7 rushing touchdowns, the team averaging more than 13 yards per carry in going for 356 yards on 27 carries.
Defensively, the Leopards kept the Wildcats off the board until the final play before halftime, allowing a kick return for a score. Stull added a pick six in the second, while Burk took a fumble forced by Brodie Schmidt on a sack in for 6 more in the first.
The Leopards move on to face Attica-Argonia in regionals next week.
