WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Victoria Knights captured the Eight-Man Division II District 5 championship with a 47-0 victory over Otis-Bison.

Victoria won the coin toss and chose to take the ball.On the third down of their first possession, Victoria lost the ball on a fumble by Thaddeus Wohler.Otis-Bison took the ball but could not make the first down.

Victoria started on their 11-yard line.  Two plays later, Nate Windholz rushed 55 yards for the first touchdown of the night.  Victoria could not complete the two-point conversion and led 6-0.

Otis-Bison went three and out to give Victoria the ball on their 16-yard line.  Quarterback Thaddeus Wohler rushed from 19 yards out to score a touchdown.  Carson Werth kicked a point after touchdown to make the score 13-0.

Grant Schoenrock scored Victoria’s next touchdown on a 20-yard rush.  A failed two-point conversion made the score 19-0.

Schoenrock started the second quarter by scoring the next touchdown on a hard ran 11-yard rush. A failed two-point conversion made the score 25 to 0.Carson Werth scored on a 13-yard run to score the next Knight touchdown.  Nate Windholz scored the two-point conversion to make the score 33-0.Otis-Bison used two pass plays to travel 55 yards and get down to the Victoria five-yard line.  They were unable to score.

Victoria took over down.  A 37-yard pass to Nate Windholz set up first and goal from the four-yard.  Windholz scored on a rush from four yards out and then added the two-point conversion to give the Knights a 41-0 lead going into halftime.

Victoria kicked off to start the second half.  After the touchback, Otis-Bison completed passes of 25 and 24 yards.  The drive stalled, and the Cougars turned the ball over on downs.

Nate Windholz rushed for 34 yards to set up Grant Schoenrock’s eight-yard run to end the game with a score of 47-0.Victoria accumulated 367 total yards: 313 on 25 rushes and 54 on three pass plays.

Nate Windholz scored three touchdowns, and Grant Schoenrock scored two.  Thaddeus Wohler and Carson Werth each scored one touchdown.

Before the game, Otis-Bison recognized Head Coach Travis Starr for his 100th career coaching victory the previous week versus Chase.

Victoria enters bracket play hosting Peabody-Burns next week.  Otis-Bison will travel to South Barber.
