East hammers North in GWAL matchup
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - It was another day at the office for the Wichita East offense, performing at a high level against Wichita North winning 88-0.
North came out aggressive to start on offense, using the first play from scrimmage to take a deep shot towards the endzone. The pass would fall incomplete, and East would close the door on any attempts at points on the rest of the night.
Defensively, the Aces rarely allowed North to find any footing and forced multiple turnovers in the first quarter, one of which that lead to points. Omari Wishom came away with an interception and raced the remaining yardage for a touchdown in the first quarter.
East was able to capitalize on the missteps. Senior running back Justin Bell had an amazing first half, scoring touchdowns on each of the first two snaps from scrimmage for the Aces. Sophomore Quarterback Daeonte’ Mitchell was also successful in the early going with a touchdown run of his own and a pass to Caquoy Patterson.
