HESSTON, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - A strong defensive start set the tone for Andale as the Indians won a school record 30th straight game Friday, shutting down Hesston 48-0.

Senior Easton Landers got things started quickly, jumping in front a Hudson Ferralez pass and returning it for a pick six on the game’s opening drive. The turnovers continued the second drive, after Hesston drove inside the 5 but saw their most promising possession of the game end on a fumble.

Andale turned that into a long drive capped by a Cody Parthemer score, his first of two in the half with the quarter ending 14-0 in Andale’s favor.

The Indian defense then went back to work, forcing a turnover on downs followed by a blocked punt on back to back possessions, both leading to scores to extend it to 28-0. A third first half turnover would come on a fumble on the following kickoff return, but Hesston forced a 4th down stop of their own to end that drive.

The momentum however wouldn’t materialize for the Swathers, them punting and Andale adding another score before the halftime buzzer sounded, this time Wyatt Spexarth taking to the air to find Noah Bruce for another score.

The shutout is the second straight for the Indian defense, and they’ll look to keep it rolling against Trinity Academy next Friday night. Hesston will travel to rival Halstead in search of their second win on the year.
