DERBY, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Entering the night tied at the top of the league table, Derby and Maize South both hit the pitch looking to take an advantage into the second half of the regular season. But the tie in the standings carried over to the match itself, with neither team able to find the back of the net in playing to a scoreless draw.

The Mavs carried possession for much of the opening 40 minutes, getting off a few shots on net but Xhavier Vaquera didn’t allow anything past him, coming up with a few diving stops along the way.

The second half played much more even, with Derby coming up with their best try of the night on a corner that was cleared. The Mavs’ Vitor Geromel had the best chance of any player, but his shot clanked off the post and was quickly cleared away.

Both sides had their chances in overtime, but nothing materialized enough to provide an advantage on the scoresheet.

Derby remains without a loss, now 7-0-1 overall, while Maize South sits at 6-1-1, their second consecutive match out of the win column following an overtime loss to Heights.
