Semifinals of Titan Classic boys soccer

WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Titan Classic semifinals for the blue bracket Thursday night.

North getting off to a fast start, Alvaro Jr. Quezada beat the defender and punched it in from across the goal. North lead 1-0.

Sergio Najera-Garcia chipped it over the back line up to ‘Jr.’ again. He gained control right in front of the net and took the left-foot shot and deflects off the keeper into the goal. North up 2-0.

East tried to do something on offense. Jose Herrera tracked down the ball and sent it back to Gael Landeros in front of the goal. His shot kicked out by a North defender.

Uriel Aguilera-Fernandez showed off some fancy foot work to get an open look away from defenders. He got a quick shot off and sent it to the back corner of the net.

North went on to beat East 5-0 final.

Dodge City and Heights also squaring off in the Classic Thursday night.

Coming back from halftime, Aron Martinez passed the ball over to Irwin Macais. He took a quick shot to the side of the goal to put the Red Demons up 3-0.

Macais at it again, sprinted up to the ball as the Heights keeper backed off. Macais caught Heights with an open goal and sent it to the opposite corner. Dodge City up 4-0.

Jose Holguin Mejia worked around defenders and gave it to Martinez in front of the net for another quick Demon goal. Dodge put up three goals in the first eight minutes of the second half, 5-0.

Then a PK by Angel Lopez Ortiz, the keeper got the diving save but the ball was still in play. Luis Brown went out to gain possession of the ball and flicked it up and in over the keeper’s head. It hits off the back post and into the goal.

Macais with a hat trick and Dodge City beat Heights 6-0 final.
