WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - One of the most talented tight ends in Kansas this season is Kapaun’s Will Anciaux. He’s a top five recruit in the class of 2023 and will be a big time factor for the Crusaders on both sides of the ball this season.

“He’s going to play tight end and we are going to split him out some,” said Kapaun’s second year Head Coach Weston Schartz. “He’s also going to play on the defensive line. He may be the first guy in the history of the city league to play wide out and defensive tackle but he is that type of athlete.”

The 6′6 junior, also a standout basketball player, currently holds multiple power five offers including K-State, Kansas, Iowa State and Michigan State.

“It has been great getting out and seeing all of these places and seeing these different coaches and creating different relationships,” Anciaux said. “I have to thank my teammates for helping me get here. Without our team winning some games last season I wouldn’t be where I am, and I thank them for helping me keep my head level. I look forward to a great season this year and just showing everyone what we can do.”

Coming off an 8-2 season, Anciaux will look to help lead Kapaun to its first league title since 1985.

“We are going to try and go out there and show these city league teams what we got,” Anciaux said. “Last season we didn’t get a chance to play any of them except for Northwest once we got to state so I think we are all looking forward to getting back into some city league competition and showing these guys what we are made of.”

The Crusaders kick off the season on the road against South Friday.
