WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) -No Andover Central football practice is complete without competition, it’s the core of what this team plans to put on the field this fall.

Taking the season moment by moment

“We are going to play fast, and play hard. We are looking forward to a good season,” Senior Isaac Sheeran stated. “We are talking it day by day, play by play, yard for yard and we are looking forward to having some of those small victories to add up in the locker room,” he finished

The Jaguars enter the season with the normal expectations surrounding the team on the field. Picked as the favorite to win a league title, this team is only focused with the present.

“It’s too early in the season to expect anything, we just want to keep our head down and work as hard as we can. I think our coaches have done a really good job at keeping us grounded,” Sheeran noted.

Head Coach Derek Tuttle notes his team has a lot of potential with returning experience but may face adversity with new faces.

“Our kids are going to get after it and compete pretty hard and our kids are going to get after it. We will have some experience in some places but we will green in others, a lot of our success will be depending on how we develop the kids,” Tuttle shared.

The Jags will have a new face at quarterback but return a number of playmakers on both sides of the ball. Senior lineman Drew Daniels says that will help create the ideal recipe for the Jags this fall.

“We have a very fast paced offense and defense, we like to get teams tired out really quick. We like to shut down offenses and keep defenses guessing. We can run or we can throw deep or short routes and make great plays because of who we have on both sides of the ball,” Daniels smiled.
