Bishop Carroll continues hot bats in softball regional against Salina South
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - In the 5A regional softball final Wednesday night, Salina South and Bishop Carroll fighting for a shot at making the state tournament.
First inning, Kendall Forbes hit the ball right into Reese Altman’s glove, quick reflexes for the out.
Kadence Brewster on the mound for the Eagles and she does it all, offense and defense. She got an impressive diving catch off the bump to make her job a little easier and end the inning.
Second inning, Kaylee Back with a chopper to the third baseman but the Cougar’s toss to first was overthrown and Kiley Brewster sprinted in from third to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.
Eve Morris sent a bomb over the center field fence for a three-run homer. Morris, Back and Anna Stephen all crossed the plate to make it a 4-0 game.
Still in the second inning, a wild pitch from the Cougars lets Emma Green come home and that extended Carroll’s lead to 5-0.
Bishop carroll advanced to the state tournament with an 8-1 win over Salina South.
