CIK Boys Track Tracker: Week Four
More bad weather pushed several of Friday’s meets to the first hot day of the year on Monday. Though just a handful of teams around Kansas competed in fewer than a dozen meets, the warm weather has already made an impact on this week’s rankings.
Just prior to the heat, the distance runners were the stars at the Barrier Breakers meet in Lawrence. St. Thomas Aquinas (5A) junior Logan Seger stormed into the all-class 3200m lead in 9:10.85. He now leads Kansas by 15 seconds this spring.
Elsewhere around the state, the Southeast of Saline boys continue to dominate in Class 3A. Junior Dylan Sprecker leads Kansas in the 1600m run in 4:18.84. Girard’s Cormick Logue jumped ahead of Sprecker in the 3A 3200m run but Sprecker answered and the pair now sits just 0.03 seconds apart with top-seven all-class times this spring.
