Andover’s hot offense powers Trojans over Andover Central
WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - On the softball diamond for the in-town Andover matchup, the Trojans swept the Jaguars in both games of Tuesday’s double header. Andover shut out Central in the first game, 12-0 after five innings.
An eight-run fourth inning sealed the game one win against Central. Bailey Way, Tessa Eubank, Kate Ralston and Boiling all scored two runs while Haley Ziser brought three runners in.
Eubank pitched all of game one for a no-hitter.
The second game was a lot shorter than the first of the double header. The Trojans carried the momentum over from game one, scoring 13 runs in the first inning. Ultimately the game would last three innings and Central would fall 17-2 to Andover.
Way had four runs while Ziser had three and three RBIs. All Trojans except one scored at least one run. Eubank didn’t take the mound in game two, that was left to Haley Ziser. But Eubank did bring four runners across the plate for Andover. Ziser was the only homerun for both teams the entire day.
In Central’s dugout, Hickerson and Paulson both scored runs and were responsible for the Jaguars’ only runs of the day. Warrington helped to bring both of them home to score.
