Sterling hosted an early season track meet on Tuesday, April 6. The Black Bears own Tyus Wilson (above), a former CIK Rising Star, topped out at 7-0 on the high jump, good for the top jump in the state of Kansas this year; his jump at 7-2 came just shy of clearing the bar.

At shot put, Halstead’s Doug Grider broke a 49 year old school record, throwing 53-07, good for the best throw in 3A through that Tuesday meet.
