WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Without giving up the lead to a tough Louisburg opponent, McPherson advances to the final game of the 2020-2021 season with a 58-46 win on Friday.

The Bullpups put together arguably their best quarter of basketball this season in the first frame of action, scoring 21 points while only giving up three. Louisburg wasn’t able to score it’s first basket until deep in the first quarter.

In the midst of that drought, McPherson wasted no time putting up points. Grace Pyle caught fire in the first quarter, mixing deep three pointers with tough finishes in transition. Emma Malm sparked the McPherson run in the early going, helping force turnovers from the full court pressure the Bullpups provided.

McPherson would see a lead dwindle in the third quarter. The Lady Cats pushed Mac to a single-digit deficit finding points down low to take advantage of Bullpups fouls.

Ultimately the Bullpups were able to keep their composure and close out the win, they advance to take on Bishop Miege in the state championship game.

Pyle had the hot hand for McPherson finishing with 21 points followed by Emma Malm with 14. Kassidy Beam added 10.

Madilyn Melton handled most of the work for Louisburg, scoring 20 points on the game.
