HUTCHINSON, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Behind a 36 point performance from Cason Richardson, Hesston pulled away from Thomas More Prep-Marian in the fourth to earn a trip to the Class 3A State Championship game.

The Swathers will take on Galena, seeking the 4th state title in school history and first since 2014.

Richardson scored 19 of his 36 in the first half, guiding Hesston after the Monarchs went on a 10-0 run to take a 6 point second quarter lead. The Swathers ended the half on a 12-3 run to lead by 3 at half, and after falling behind again early in the second half, another run proved to be too much for the Monarchs to recover from.

The game remained close for much of the fourth quarter, sitting at a one possession game with 2:30 to go, but foul shots for the Swathers down the stretch proved to be the difference in a 64-55 win.
