WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - In a back and forth 4th quarter, Southeast got it done at the line late to hang on and beat Kapaun Mt. Carmel 56-53 at SE High School.

KMC led 41-40 going into the 4th, and stretched the lead to 47-41 a couple minutes into the 4th. But that’s when SE turned up the pressure, and picked up the pace. From that point, down 6, the Golden Buffaloes went on a 6-0 run to tie it. They were clutch at the line to stretch the lead to four several times, and each time Kapaun answered. On the final trip to the line, up three, SE missed the back end of a one and one. But Kapaun couldn’t hit a half court buzzer beater to tie it.

Jaila Harding led Southeast with 24 points. Jakhia Jones had 13.

Ella Anciaux and Jennifer Jacobs each scored 19 points for Kapaun Mt. Carmel.
