WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - The Derby Panther full-court press is tough to dissect when it is in clicking on all cylinders. The Andover Central Jaguars learned that lesson on Friday night in a 55-30 loss to the Panthers.

Defensively, the Panthers put together an outstanding performance, keeping the Jaguars’ point total in single digits for most of the first half. The Panthers’ length made it difficult to advance the ball across half court, when the Jags were successful, Derby’s shot defense and strong rebounding made the difference on many possessions.

Offensively, the Panthers saw a number of different contributors pour in to the final tally. Fontaine Williams topped the scoring charts for the Panthers with 12 off the bench, while Amari Thomas contributed 11 after checking in midway through the first quarter.

Matthew Sears helped keep the Jaguars in the game, before Derby was able to pull away.
