WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - A polarizing second quarter was the perfect jump start needed for the Andover Central Jaguars on their way to a 67-57 win over the Derby Panthers.

Straight into the game, the Panthers worked through Sophomore Addy Brown. The Panther forward scored the first points of the game forcing the Jaguar defense to collapse on the post.

The Panthers held a serviceable lead after the first quarter, before the Jaguar offense ignited a second quarter scoring effort that would hold for the rest of the night.

Brittany Harshaw had the hot hand for the Jaguars scoring a game high 25 points in the win. Bailey Wilborn was on Harshaw’s heels in the scoring category finishing with 24. Mixing in transition opportunities with finesse finishes in the half-court, the Jaguars looked comfortable from anywhere on the court. Andover Central shot the ball well from beyond the three-point line tallying 10 scores from deep.

Despite the second quarter rally, the Panthers would close the gap to five in the closing minutes. Despite being the center of attention for the Andover Central defense, Addy Brown came away with 16 points on the night. Tatum Boettjer scored 9 of her 14 points from beyond the arc, while Derryana Cobbins added 13.
