MAIZE, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Maize South beat Salina South 31-29, after two Avery Lowe free throws with less than 5 seconds left on the game clock.

As the 3rd quarter was winding down, the Cougars trailed by 5. But two quick 3-pointers gave Salina South the lead heading into the 4th. A couple Acacia Weis buckets stretched the lead to as much as 5 in the 4th, but the Mavs kept fighting back, and eventually clawed back through pressure defense. Down 3, with less than 3 minutes to play, Riley Kennedy tied things up at 29. That score held until about 5 seconds left, when Maize South inbounded to Lowe, who was fouled on the shot. She drained both, and Weis wasn’t able to get a half court prayer at the buzzer.
