WICHITA, Kan. (Catch it Kansas) - Hesston girls hosting Buhler in a 3A-4A matchup.

First half, Alex Martin came away with a loose ball. She made a break for the hoop and laid it in for the Swathers to go up 9-5.

Anna Humphreys passed to Katie Kueker who drew all the defenders in and left Martin open on the other side of the paint for the easy layup. Hesston extended its lead to 11-5.

Amaleigh Mattison at the top of the key, swung the ball around to Paige McDowell. McDowell drove to the rim and tossed the ball up, she got the shooter’s bounce for the Crusaders first field goal of the second quarter and a 13-7 score.

Another feed to Kueker inside gave Hesston a huge advantage over Buhler. She kissed it off the glass and Hesston lead 15-7.

The Swathers began running away with it and built a 15-point lead before the half.

Buhler got it’s second field goal of the quarter just seconds before halftime. Taryn Horning launched up the long ball for three to put Buhler in double digit scoring.

The Crusaders troublesome shooting led to them losing 45-21 against Hesston.
